Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, posting a trip or delivery, or using any feature of the HanditGo platform (handitgo.com), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use HanditGo.
These terms apply to all users of the platform, including travelers, senders, visitors, and anyone who browses the site without registering.
2. Eligibility & Identity Verification
To use HanditGo, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have the legal capacity to enter a binding agreement
- Not be barred from using the platform under applicable law
- Complete KYC (Know Your Customer) identity verification via Didit before you can create trips or submit delivery requests
KYC requires a government-issued photo ID and a real-time selfie. You may only maintain one account per verified identity. Users who provide false identity information, create multiple accounts, or circumvent KYC are permanently banned and may be reported to relevant authorities.
3. Platform Role — What HanditGo Is and Is Not
HanditGo is a peer-to-peer marketplace that facilitates connections between senders and travelers. We are:
- A technology platform and matching service
- An escrow and collateral administrator
- A dispute resolution facilitator
HanditGo is not a carrier, courier, shipping company, freight forwarder, or logistics provider. All physical transport of items is performed by private individuals acting in a personal capacity as part of their own travel. HanditGo is not a party to the underlying delivery arrangement between senders and travelers.
4. How Matching Works
Travelers post trips with their origin, destination, departure date, and available luggage capacity. Senders post delivery requests with item details, declared value, and route requirements. Senders can request a specific traveler's help; the traveler accepts or declines. Once both parties confirm, a delivery match is established and payment escrow is initiated.
Neither party is obligated to enter into a match. Travelers may decline any request without reason before accepting. Senders may cancel before a traveler accepts at no cost.
5. Fees and Payments
HanditGo charges a service fee on each completed delivery. All fees are displayed transparently in the fee breakdown before a sender confirms a request. The breakdown shows:
- Traveler payout: The amount the traveler earns (paid from the sender's escrow)
- HanditGo service fee: Our platform fee, charged to the sender
- Insurance premium: Per-shipment coverage, scaled to declared value
All amounts are in USD. Payments are processed via PayPal. All fee calculations are performed server-side — any attempt to submit client-modified fee amounts is rejected. Traveler payouts are transferred via PayPal within 24 hours of sender confirmation.
6. Escrow and Collateral
Sender escrow: When a sender confirms a delivery match, their total payment (traveler payout + service fee + insurance) is immediately captured and held in an escrow account. The escrow is released to the traveler only after the sender confirms receipt of the item in acceptable condition.
Traveler collateral: Before a match is confirmed, the traveler must deposit collateral proportional to the item's declared value. The collateral is:
- Fully refunded when the sender confirms successful receipt
- Partially retained if the traveler cancels within 24 hours of departure without valid cause
- Fully forfeited if the item is lost, damaged, or not delivered due to the traveler's negligence
If a dispute is opened, all escrow and collateral funds are frozen until the dispute is resolved. HanditGo's dispute decisions regarding fund release are binding.
7. Cancellation Policy
Senders:
- Before traveler acceptance: full refund, no charge
- After acceptance, 24+ hours before departure: full escrow refund (service fee may be retained)
- After acceptance, within 24 hours of departure: service fee forfeited; a cancellation compensation is paid to the traveler from escrow
Travelers:
- Before accepting a request: no penalty, no obligation
- After accepting, 24+ hours before departure: partial collateral deduction for coordination time
- After accepting, within 24 hours of departure: cancellation fee applies, deducted from collateral
8. Prohibited Conduct
The following are strictly prohibited on HanditGo:
- Shipping items on the Prohibited Items list
- Misrepresenting item type, contents, value, or weight
- Conducting transactions off-platform to circumvent escrow, collateral, or fees
- Creating fake accounts, posting fake trips, or manipulating trust scores
- Making false customs declarations
- Submitting fraudulent or bad-faith dispute claims
- Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users
- Attempting to breach platform security or reverse-engineer our systems
Violations may result in immediate account suspension, loss of funds, and referral to law enforcement.
9. Item Declaration and Customs
Senders must accurately declare the nature, contents, and value of all items. The declared value determines the traveler payout, collateral amount, and insurance coverage. Underdeclaring item value to reduce costs is prohibited and voids insurance coverage.
Travelers are responsible for truthful customs declarations at all checkpoints. Customs duties and import taxes at the destination are the sender's financial responsibility unless otherwise agreed in writing via the platform. HanditGo provides a customs receipt for every delivery — both parties should retain it.
10. Insurance
Every delivery on HanditGo includes per-shipment insurance scaled to the declared value. Insurance covers loss from theft, physical damage during transit, and confirmed non-delivery by the traveler. Coverage does not include:
- Items damaged due to undisclosed fragility or inadequate packaging
- Items excluded from coverage by their nature (see Carriage Conditions)
- Items whose declared value was misrepresented
- Items carried in violation of Prohibited Items rules
11. Dispute Resolution
Either party may open a dispute within 48 hours of the expected delivery date. Both parties must submit their evidence (photos, messages, delivery scan records) within 72 hours of the dispute being opened. HanditGo's resolution team reviews all evidence and issues a binding decision within 5 business days.
Decisions may be appealed once within 7 days of issuance by submitting new evidence not previously presented. HanditGo's final decision is binding within the platform. For amounts above applicable jurisdictional thresholds, users may seek redress through competent courts.
12. Account Termination
HanditGo may suspend or permanently terminate your account for:
- Violations of these Terms of Service
- Failed, fraudulent, or bypassed KYC
- Repeated dispute losses indicating bad-faith use
- Account inactivity for more than 24 months
You may close your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. All open transactions must be resolved before account closure. Funds held in escrow or as collateral are released according to their respective outcomes.
13. Intellectual Property
All platform content, design, trademarks, logos, and software are the property of HanditGo or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or commercially exploit any part of the platform without express written permission.
By submitting content to HanditGo (item photos, descriptions, messages), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use that content for the purpose of operating and improving the platform.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- HanditGo's total aggregate liability to any user for any claim shall not exceed the fees paid by that user to HanditGo in the 3 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim
- HanditGo is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- HanditGo is not liable for the acts or omissions of travelers or senders, including delivery failures, customs seizures, or item damage
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold HanditGo harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: your use of the platform; your violation of these terms; your violation of any third party's rights; or any misrepresentation you make in connection with a delivery.
16. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes, we will provide at least 14 days' notice via email and platform notification before the new terms take effect. Your continued use of HanditGo after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not accept the changes, you must stop using the platform and may close your account.
17. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes that cannot be resolved through the platform's dispute resolution process shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in the applicable jurisdiction.
