Carriage Conditions
Last updated: June 2026
1. Scope and Application
These Carriage Conditions govern the transport of items between senders and travelers on the HanditGo platform. By posting a delivery request or accepting a delivery, you agree to these conditions in full.
2. Nature of the Service
HanditGo operates as a matching platform connecting private individuals who wish to send items ("Senders") with travelers carrying personal luggage ("Travelers"). HanditGo is not a freight forwarder, courier company, or logistics provider. Items are carried as personal luggage by private individuals, subject to airline baggage rules and customs regulations.
3. Weight and Dimension Limits
All items must comply with the traveler's airline baggage allowance. Maximum item specifications per delivery:
- Maximum weight: 30 kg per delivery (subject to traveler's available capacity)
- Maximum declared value: $2,000 USD per delivery
- Dimensions: must fit in checked luggage (typically 158 cm total linear dimensions)
4. Liability
HanditGo's liability is limited to facilitating the platform, escrow management, and insurance coordination. HanditGo is not liable for:
- Customs seizure due to sender misrepresentation
- Delays caused by customs processing
- Damage resulting from inadequate packaging by the sender
- Loss due to force majeure (flight cancellations, natural disasters, government actions)
Traveler liability is limited to the declared value of the item if loss or damage is attributable to the traveler's negligence, as determined through the dispute resolution process.
5. Insurance
Every delivery includes per-shipment insurance. Coverage is based on the declared value and covers:
- Loss due to theft
- Physical damage during transit
- Non-delivery confirmed by evidence
Insurance does NOT cover: damage from undisclosed fragility, inherent defects, customs seizure, or items transported in violation of these conditions.
6. Customs Compliance
Both sender and traveler are individually responsible for customs compliance in their respective jurisdictions. HanditGo provides customs receipts as documentation but does not represent items to customs authorities. All declarations made to customs are the responsibility of the traveler carrying the item.
7. Cancellation
Either party may cancel a confirmed match up to 24 hours before the flight departure without penalty. Cancellation within 24 hours of departure:
- Traveler cancels: collateral partially retained; sender receives full escrow refund
- Sender cancels: service fee forfeited; traveler receives a cancellation compensation from sender's escrow
8. Governing Law
These Carriage Conditions are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which HanditGo is incorporated. Disputes arising from these conditions are subject to the dispute resolution process outlined in the Terms of Service.
9. Changes to These Conditions
HanditGo reserves the right to update these Carriage Conditions. Users will be notified of material changes via email and platform notification. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of updated conditions.
